Normally when saving is discussed, it has to do with money.  The runner up?  Time.  Weighing the cost versus the benefit isn’t always easy, but when you find certain products that make your life just a touch better, you find that you’re willing to spend on those items.

Products that I Couldn’t Live Without

Big Sexy Hair Volumizing Dry Shampoo: Hair maintenance sucks up a huge part of my waking hours (well, 30 minutes, but still!) so I am always on the lookout for products that will revive my hair to get one more day out of a wash and blowout.  I’ve tried several dry shampoos, and this is THE BEST.  It is a clear formula (not white!), in an aerosol can, for less than $20.  It’s available at most salon and salon supplier stores, and to me, it is worth every penny to be able to hit the snooze on a weekday morning (or to not have to spend time getting ready on the weekends).

Smucker’s Uncrustables: Though I am a frugal advocate and know that the cost of a loaf of bread, jar of jelly, and jar of peanut butter (all on sale, of course) costs just as much as one box of these babies, I still keep an ‘emergency’ box in the freezer.  Every mom, whether working or staying home, has Those Mornings where nothing goes right and you just want to be able to toss together a kids’ lunch to send to school (or toss one on the table for kids at home).  Though a costly item if using everyday, it’s been a small lifesaver for me on mornings where nothing is going right and time is not on my side.  If one box (frozen) can last me a month, I’d say that’s $4.00 well spent.

Bounce Dryer Bars: I added these to the list although I haven’t tried them yet.  I’ve watched videos, read reviews, and I am thoroughly convinced that these were put on earth to make my life easier!  One bar attaches to the inside of your dryer and lasts for about 4 months, acting in the place of a dryer sheet.  It costs around $9, the same as a large box of dryer sheets from Costco or Sam’s Club.  The dryer sheets may last longer than the bar, but I have a tendency to *forget* the sheet from time to time, so I’ll go with the dryer bar.  Maybe that’s why my dryer sheets take so long to deplete!

Schick Intuition Razors: I love these for during the week!  When wearing skirts or dresses, I’d prefer to shave with a more heavy duty razor (my Schick Quattro, <3), but during the week when I’m rushing to get out of the shower and into my daughter’s room to get her up and off to school, I’ll take ease over performance.  It does a ‘good enough’ job for the amount of time I spend using it.  Not having to worry about shaving cream (or razor burn from not using cream) is a major bonus!  Price varies on these, but Target often has great prices.

Every woman, if you ask, has one product she can’t live without.  Share yours!
