Subject: 4 Things I Can't Live Without
Security: Public

Normally when saving is discussed, it has to do with money.  The runner up?  Time.  Weighing the cost versus the benefit isn’t always easy, but when you find certain products that make your life just a touch better, you find that you’re willing to spend on those items.

Products that I Couldn’t Live Without

Big Sexy Hair Volumizing Dry Shampoo: Hair maintenance sucks up a huge part of my waking hours (well, 30 minutes, but still!) so I am always on the lookout for products that will revive my hair to get one more day out of a wash and blowout.  I’ve tried several dry shampoos, and this is THE BEST.  It is a clear formula (not white!), in an aerosol can, for less than $20.  It’s available at most salon and salon supplier stores, and to me, it is worth every penny to be able to hit the snooze on a weekday morning (or to not have to spend time getting ready on the weekends).

Smucker’s Uncrustables: Though I am a frugal advocate and know that the cost of a loaf of bread, jar of jelly, and jar of peanut butter (all on sale, of course) costs just as much as one box of these babies, I still keep an ‘emergency’ box in the freezer.  Every mom, whether working or staying home, has Those Mornings where nothing goes right and you just want to be able to toss together a kids’ lunch to send to school (or toss one on the table for kids at home).  Though a costly item if using everyday, it’s been a small lifesaver for me on mornings where nothing is going right and time is not on my side.  If one box (frozen) can last me a month, I’d say that’s $4.00 well spent.

Bounce Dryer Bars: I added these to the list although I haven’t tried them yet.  I’ve watched videos, read reviews, and I am thoroughly convinced that these were put on earth to make my life easier!  One bar attaches to the inside of your dryer and lasts for about 4 months, acting in the place of a dryer sheet.  It costs around $9, the same as a large box of dryer sheets from Costco or Sam’s Club.  The dryer sheets may last longer than the bar, but I have a tendency to *forget* the sheet from time to time, so I’ll go with the dryer bar.  Maybe that’s why my dryer sheets take so long to deplete!

Schick Intuition Razors: I love these for during the week!  When wearing skirts or dresses, I’d prefer to shave with a more heavy duty razor (my Schick Quattro, <3), but during the week when I’m rushing to get out of the shower and into my daughter’s room to get her up and off to school, I’ll take ease over performance.  It does a ‘good enough’ job for the amount of time I spend using it.  Not having to worry about shaving cream (or razor burn from not using cream) is a major bonus!  Price varies on these, but Target often has great prices.

Every woman, if you ask, has one product she can’t live without.  Share yours!

Subject: Great websites for cash back and sale alerts!

ShopatHome.com never fails to amaze me!  I am generally wary about downloading anything to my PC, but this toolbar (which can be hidden also) tracks what you buy online and gives you amazing cash back deals on your purchases!  The cash back percentages vary from day to day, and can be as high as 20%.  The site does not require your credit card number in order to track your purchases.  I honestly tend to forget about it until I see the icon, double click on it, and see how much my savings have added up!  Payment is sent to you via check.

ShopItToMe.com is a customizable site that lets you pick and choose what store sales get sent to you via email, and how often.  You can also choose your size, clothing type, shoe type, etc. etc. etc. in order to whittle down what you're looking at into just what you want and need!  There is also a referral program where you can earn giftcards.  Please send me a message if you're signing up for this site, and I will email and invite you!

MyGroceryDeals.com is a site that consolidates all of the weekly grocery ads you're accustomed to paging through into one online shopping list experience.  Just check off what you want, it saves to your shopping list, and even adds up the total spent and the total saved.  Multiple stores can print on one list, but are kept separate to avoid confusion.  This site has made my life tremendously better!

I am so very excited to start this community!  It is my dream to share ideas on how to save money without compromising your way of life.  I am a big believer in getting what you want, but never paying full price!  I love passing on information to anyone that I can about the ways that I achieve that goal, and after a few years of doing so, I decided to open up to the public as well!
